Show us your Car Audio Setup!

(Updated June 10th, 2008)

Hey everyone!
This thread will permit users to post pictures of their Car Audio Setup and let you explain and showcase what you got!

Rules:

1) It's Your Car. The picture that you choose has to be the real deal. No pictures of in-store stuff or off-the-web rips.

2) Guidelines Apply. Remember that the guidelines still apply to this idea. Thus, please refrain from posting anything unlawful, libellous, defamatory, obscene, pornographic, sexually explicit, indecent, lewd, harassing, threatening, violent, racist, abusive, harmful, invasive of privacy or publicity rights, inflammatory or otherwise objectionable or injurious to third parties. Please also refrain from posting any content intended to exploit, solicit, or harm minors. Violation of this will result in removal of the picture in question, and if it gets out of hand, we'll be forced to end the project itself, so KEEP IT CLEAN!

3) Size. Try to keep it in the range of around 1024px width and 768px height. This is not a set in stone rule, and Moderators will judge if corrections need to be made to the size (we'll handle it).

4) Number of Pictures. You can put a unlimited amount of pictures but please keep in mind we don’t want to spam the forum. Don’t post every single angle of your setup. You can post a General picture of the setup and then individual pics of your setup.

5) Comments. This is a project to bring a positive vibe to the board. So feel free to comment on the pictures, but please keep any negative comments to yourselves.

How This Will Work:

You can host your pictures on sites like flickr, photobucket, facebook, etc. Some of these sites will give you the URL to copy/paste into a message and you don't have to do anything else.

2002 4 door Cavalier

Car

Deck: Pioneer DEH-P6000UB

Night shot, with the blue backlit HVAC controls.

Front and rear door speakers: Energy 6.5" component up front, and 6.5" coax for rear doors in a custom mount

Subs: MTX SLHT710x2D (400 watts each)   Rear speakers: Energy 6x9's

Subs & rear speakers

Amps: MTX TC4001 (Soon to be upgraded) for subs,

Exile 600.4 for front door and rear deck speakers,

MTX TC2002 for rear door speakers (Mounted under the rear deck)

Currently working on installing dynamat material throughout the car, only the trunk lid and rear deck are done so far.

Plan on installing a double DIN unit in the factory radio location for GPS, video playback, etc, with all audio going through the Pioneer deck to be custom mounted in a fiberglass mount below the HVAC controls.

Upgrades to all amplifiers as well coming soon :smileyhappy:

It is true that its not the best install practice to mount an amplifier upside down, however, being such a small amp and properly tuned, it hardly gets warm to the touch with normal listening volumes, not at all on a cold day, and being mounted right above the ports for the sub box, it has plenty of air circulation and has proven not to be a problem. All amps are properly grounded and have been tested to have a very low resistance, using proper gauge wire. In addition, upgraded wire has been added under the hood. Also ran new power and ground wires for each head unit up front. Sure, the installation may be a bit messy, but this system sounds awesome, and thats what matters to me. I appreciate your input though, and Im always open to advice and suggestions.

Note MTX TC4001 has been upgraded to Exile 1200.1, and double DIN nav unit has been added up front. I cant re-edit my original post apparently.
