Disc Damage / Future Shop Policy?

I managed to pick up a limited edition copy of Dragon Age : Origins and with some amount of horrible luck the disc is damaged (Circular sratches) .. Now I am fairly positive that these came from my machine but is there anything they would do and if not, does anyone know a good way to repair that disc? I just didn't know if Future Shop had some base replacement plan or not for the same game.

Future Shop has no such program that I know of.  Usually they only cover defects, not damage from outside influences.  Although, if you bought it within 30 days, they may be able to do an over the counter exchange for the exact same game for the same system.  Your other option is that I believe Bioware does have such a program for all of their games, but I think they charge a small fee to replace the disks.

Hm, well, I do have my recipt and all from the purchase, I suppose I could try to see if Future Shop would just exchange it cause I don't want anything else but I did some browsing on Biowares site and sadly didn't see anything about a repair/exchange disc thing. =/

Re: Disc Damage / Future Shop Policy?

I dug a little bit, and I was mistaken.  It's the publisher that handles the replacement media.  In this case, it's Electronic Arts.  You can go here to get the details of the process, and how to contact them. The short version, it looks like, is that they have a 90 day warranty that guarantees it's free from manufacturing defects, otherwise you do have to send them a 'nominal fee' to get the replacement.  You'll have to contact them to get the cost.

Re: Disc Damage / Future Shop Policy?

Ah, that makes sense.. though in all honesty, it's prolly gonna be about the same price as to just buy a normal copy to replace the copy I have. It's 20 bucks for just the replacement then I have to send it a certain way they suggest and whatnot. I guess i'll have to start looking into CD repair kits or something of that sort. I'll just have to see if I can do something on Future Shop's end first though according to the tracking ont he site they don't even carry the limited edition of Dragon Age anymore at the store near me.
