You can see the terms and conditions of Futureshop's Product Service Plan for reference.  The No Lemon Guarantee is spelled out as:

No Lemon Guarantee
If your product requires more than three repairs, we'll provide you with a replacement product.

Now, it doesn't define a 'repair' explicitly on that page.  From my experience, a repair means where they replace one of the main components in the computer.  Some common part replacements that aren't included as a 'repair' are a battery replacement, a power adapter replacement, or replacing some broken keys on the keyboard(replacing the entire keyboard normally is considered a repair).

For full details you should consult the terms and condition in your PSP pamphlet, or you can call the toll free number and ask there: 1-800-663-2275

You can find the Product Service Plan's Terms and Conditions on the brochure with your receipt. They used to be available on the Future Shop website, but I'm having difficulty finding them.

In any case, the specific clause you're looking for is this one:

No Lemon Guarantee:

During the term of the Plan, if we repair your product three times, and the product then requires a fourth repair, as verified by our authorized service centre, we will replace it subject to the limitations noted in the "Coverage" and "Replacement Product" sections. ... One service request number, requiring functional part(s) repair/replacement is the equivalent of one repair. The Plan will immediately be deemed fulfilled and will end on date of replacement or issuance of a store.

The No-Lemon Guarantee does not apply to services that (a) are resolved by minor soldering or repair of loose wires; (b) do not result in a physical repair such as annual checks, cleanings, customer education; (c) consist of the repair or replacement of Accessories; (d) consist of reloading or servicing software; or (e) are performed outside Canada.

So, in non-legalese, you'll need to have your laptop repaired three times, and it needs to come in for a fourth repair, which must be verified before Future Shop will exchange it. The actual laptop unit itself needs to be repaired for it to count -- a replacement AC adapter doesn't count as a repair, but a replaced hard drive or repaired motherboard does.

If you have any other questions, feel free to let us know!

Hope that helps!
