This got me thinking that I'd kinda heard these arguments before. Perhaps applied to different systems, maybe even to different technology, but they weren't new... Read more...

Dante's Inferno Super Bowl Ad Reminds Us That 'Hell Awaits' This Tuesday

by Blogger on 02-07-2010 11:40 PM - last edited on 02-07-2010 11:43 PM

The EA marketing blitz for Dante's Inferno reached new heights during Sunday's Super Bowl XLIV, with the company plunking down a huge wad of cash, estimated to be around the $3 million, to secure a coveted 30-second commercial spot during the sporting event. As strange as it might sound, given EA's strong roots in sports games (especially football), this is the first time the company has bought a Super Bowl commercial. So why'd they do it, and for a game based on an epic poem no less? Read more...

B.C. Government Responds to Pressure, New Video Game Tax Breaks Announced For This Year

by Blogger on 02-06-2010 08:37 PM - last edited on 02-06-2010 08:41 PM

The pressure on the B.C. government to step up and support its interactive entertainment industry has been mounting for years now. The province is home to Canada's largest gaming hub, surviving largely without the generous tax incentives seen in Ontario and Quebec. Responding to the lobbying by B.C.'s embattled gaming industry, the government's Finance Minister, Colin Hansen, announced a series of tax credits for the province's film and digital media industries. Hey hey! If you're a Halo fan you're probably frothing at the mouth waiting for the release of Halo Legends, the anise experience that is to present new stories set in the Halo Universe, on February 16th--and you should probably get that seen to, in case it's rabies or something. While you wait (perhaps at the doctor's office) we've got a link to the first couple of minutes of the first short, "The Babysitter" (animated by the legendary Studio 4oC) and hot info on the Halo Legends"Heroes Journey Sweepstakes." The Games of February 2010 - White Knight Chronicles

by Blogger on 02-04-2010 11:47 PM - last edited on 02-04-2010 11:55 PM
