Does anyone know why there is no email program in windows 7? What are other people using for email.

Re: Windows 7 No Outlook Express?

There is a program called Windows Mail that was developed as a successor to Outlook Express.  You should be able to find the settings under the Control Panel.  I personally don't use Windows Mail, so I haven't bothered to set it up, but I know for sure that there is a setting in the Control Panel for it.  :smileyhappy:

There is no mail program of any sort in Windows 7: http://news.cnet.com/8301-13860_3-10048142-56.html

I recommend downloading Windows Live Hotmail: http://download.live.com/wlmail It is superior to Windows Mail (the one in Vista) and Outlook Express.

Good call James!  I was thinking of suggesting Windows Live Mail myself as well.

Thanks, Krypto.....WLM is a great program. I have been using it for a couple of years now. Many like Thunderbird, but I have never tried it.

Re: Windows 7 No Outlook Express?

Personally, I congratulate Microsoft of *not* including any sort of mail programs in Windows.  I have moved exclusively to web-based mail services (eg. Hotmail or Yahoo Mail) and have no use for any standalone mail software.
