futureshop sells car warranties?

While technically you were covered, its unfortunate that they'll leave you without a phone for such a long time.  Try to see if you can negotiate a quicker repair period or at least a loaner, this just doesn't seem reasonable to me.

No they don't.  Anyway, I sent in my phone, got it back.  It's not repairable so it's to be exchanged.  But the sales guy refuses to exchange it because he claims there no "similar" smart phone.

They want to give me $94 for the current value of the phone and be on my way.  My warranty cost $99!  That to me is a slap in the face.  They're essentially saying "our warranty can't do you any good...so we'll give you the warranty money back...oh and we'll keep your broken phone too and you're on your own.

Blah...sorry just so frustrating.  This purchase of the warranty was to avoid headaches ...seems like I have more of them.

I've never seen a cell phone battery die yet. So if that was included in a warranty, it doesn't make it a plus factor for me.

But on the other hand, laptop batteries are a complete different story and would probably be a selling point for warranties.

Unlocking and warranty

I was just wondering if anything happens with the PEP if you unlock your phone.  I am going to India for 2 months this summer, and I'm considering unlocking my Telus Storm

so that I could use it over there with a foriegn sim card.  I've heard that the warranty from Telus is void if I unlock it, but I'm not too sure. Any advice would be appreciated.

As far as I'm aware, unlocking your phone, especially a Storm which is intended to be a world phone, does not void the warranty.  You should be fine, but to be safe I'd go into your local FS and clarify with the General Manager there what you're doing and ensure he or she confirms that it is okay.  Also, get it in writing and make sure another manager is present so there's no issues.

Re: Cell phone / Smart Phone Warranty

Hello, I need some help here. I've recently bought an iphone 3gs from futureshop and I've used this phone for about four weeks now. I was playing this game on my phone one day and when i finished my phone became very hot. Ever since that time, the phone is draining battery like crazy. Sometimes it won't even last half a day when i am not even doing much on the phone. Does pep cover this? Even If i get a new phone, what about all the apps that i got? I don't know what i should do now........

Re: Cell phone / Smart Phone Warranty

I can't see why the PEP wouldn't cover it, besides, its not like you were able to tamper with the battery anyway. They can transfer all your data from one phone to another.
