Are you ready? The Halo Reach beta begins May 3, 2010

by on 04-30-2010 03:52 PM

The biggest, baddest, most-anticipated beta of the year is about to begin with Halo Reach . If you bought Halo: ODST you've already got access to the Reach beta, so let's have a moment to have a word about Reach.

If you're a fan of John-117 (that's the statuesque protagonist of the Halo universe for those of you keeping score) you know the story of Reach. Humanity's last defence and our best hope for victory against the planet-glassing covenant. Legions of troops are matched with a squadron of Spartans when the unthinkable happens: the Covenant learn the location of the planet Reach.

This all-new adventure is going to include one heck of a ride in single-player, as well as more Halo multiplayer than you can handle. You'll get a chance to explore an exciting new facet of the Halo pantheon, with new characters, new weapons, new vehicles, and new enemies. There's a whole new story to explore, and new multiplayer challenges to conquer.

Are you in the Halo Reach beta? Just how awesome is it? Let us know in the comments below!

Hi everyone,

Beta keys have been a hot topic this week, and while I don’t have any StarCraft II codes to give away (sorry!), I do have 5 beta keys for Halo: Reach!  If you bought Halo: ODST you’ve already got access into the beta, but for those of you who don’t, we’ve got five keys to give away.

Here’s how to win: Sign in  or register to the Future Shop Community Forum account (no anonymous posts will count) and reply to this thread with the line “ The Covenant may have numbers, but we’ve got REACH! ” by 11:59pm PST tonight (April 30).

Five winners will be picked at random and messaged with their key tomorrow morning.

Good luck!

I havn't really been too interested in Halo Reach, though with all the recent news that has been hitting the Web it has been getting hard to resist temptations. It seems to have managed to maintain it's original charm while adding in many new features such as the jetpacks.

I've never really thought about purchasing Halo: ODST, I may go rent it this weekend, maybe even invest some money and purchase it if I find a good deal.

Jetpacks are for noobs. Kidding all the new equipment seems nice but what has really got my excited is the credits system. In Halo 3 in matchmaking you don't get anything out of being on the losing team. Now you get credits even if you are on the losing team and play well. Hope I don't end up an addict.

Really looking forward to this. A beta key would sweet.

Sprinting with a hammer is all that matters. Unlike running with scissors, it's encouraged!

Thanks everyone - I've sent all the winners their codes!

Have fun playing this weekend!

@Laura

How were the codes distributed? Through private messages?

I would imagine through PMs or via email to the one used to sign up to the Community.
